Role
Promaxo is seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations, supply chain coordination, and production readiness for our novel MRI-guided intervention technology. This hybrid role bridges engineering, operations, and supply chain disciplines—ideal for an early-career engineer eager to gain exposure across the full product lifecycle in a dynamic medical device startup.
You’ll work closely with production technicians, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure builds are executed efficiently, materials are available, and documentation is accurate and compliant with regulated manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineering
- Support mechanical and electrical assembly, test, and build operations for MRI sub- systems and components.
- Develop and maintain Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs), Quality Assurance Procedures (QAPs), and work instructions.
- Support the design and implementation of fixtures, jigs, and tooling using SolidWorks or similar CAD software to improve manufacturability and reduce build time.
- Support the design and implementation of unit tests for MRI system and electrical subsystems and components.
- Participate in process optimization, layout planning, and workflow improvements on the manufacturing floor.
- Partner with the engineering team to transition electrical and mechanical builds from prototype to pilot and production phases.
- Document and report production data, including test results, deviations, and continuous improvement actions.
Supply Chain & Inventory Coordination
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure material readiness for upcoming builds.
- Help maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and part metadata in ERP/MRP systems.
- Assist in creating and tracking purchase orders, part shortages, and supplier deliveries to support on-time builds.
- Coordinate with vendors on quality issues, delivery timing, and cost updates as needed.
- Support physical inventory counts, receiving inspections, and reconciliation activities.
Manufacturing Floor Management Support
- Work closely with floor technicians and production leads to ensure build schedules are met.
- Identify bottlenecks, support equipment maintenance coordination, and assist in prioritizing daily work orders.
- Reinforce quality and safety procedures in daily operations.
- Help document and escalate production or quality issues to engineering and management teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- 1–3 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or production engineering (medical device or regulated industry preferred).
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
- Experience with electrical subsystems such as amplifiers, power supplies, power distribution units, as well as engineering measurement tools such as network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, signal generator.
- Experience interacting with suppliers and creating purchase orders
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent).
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or data tools for tracking and reporting.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, hands-on startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing (ISO 13485 environment).
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exposure to supplier qualification or quality management processes.
- Strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with hands-on work on the production floor.

Location: Fully on-site at Promaxo HQ and Contract Manufacturing Facility
Salary Range: $100,000-150,000 base plus stock options
