Promaxo Holdings, Inc., a medical imaging, robotics, and AI technology company based in Oakland, California, announced that it received a direct investment from Fred Moll, M.D., an industry pioneer with over 40 years of experience in surgical robotics and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Moll also joined the company as a strategic advisor.
Dr. Amit Vohra, Founder and CEO of Promaxo, stated: “We warmly welcome Dr. Moll in our journey to grow our business and drive market penetration of our single sided Promaxo MR system.”
Dr. Moll served as Chief Development Officer for Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies from April 2019 to March 2023. He was co-founder and CEO of Auris Health, Inc., which Johnson & Johnson acquired in 2019. Earlier, he founded Intuitive Surgical, Inc. in 1995, now a world leader in surgical robotics. He holds a B.A. in economics from UC Berkeley, an M.S. in management from Stanford, and an M.D. from the University of Washington. Dr. Moll currently serves on the boards of PROCEPT BioRobotics, Shockwave Medical, and Insightec, among others. He is also founding partner of Sonder Capital Management, LLC.
Promaxo develops minimally-invasive MRI and robotic platforms backed by over 200 patents, focusing on improving patient diagnosis and intervention quality.
